The same elegance of the famous English rifle is featured in this particular light and handy shotgun version, octagon to round barrel. The lock has a case hardened colour finish, the pistol grip stock is made of walnut. The grip cap and the forend cap have ebony inserts. Perfect gun for clay pigeon target shooting and hunting. Barrel length is 32 5/16". Overall length is 47 11/16".

Mortimer Shotgun
Reproduction of an English rifle with octagonal to round barrel. The oil finished European walnut stock is completed by a typical English styled cheek piece and checkered. Colour case hardened lock and metal parts. The Deluxe version is enriched with gold inlays and engraving on the polished steel lock and fitting, and with the name “Mortimer” in gold letter on the barrel.

Side by Side Shotgun Old English Maple
Fantastic side by side with maple stock with escutcheon and engraved capbox of typical English school. This last accessory, frequently found on the Whitworth and Henry Match Rifles and on the military rifled side by side guns of Swinburn & Son and John Jacob has been used on hunting shotguns thanks to his design simplicity and the practical use. The barrels are rust brown finish colour and are made with a slender shape to obtain lighter weight than those normally fitted to a standard muzzle loading side by side shotgun, giving the gun a slim and very elegant look. The engraved locks are case hardened finish.

This beautiful version of muzzle loading side by side shotgun, which reproduces an original English model has been the indispensable friend of the traditional hunter for many years. The stock is made of walnut, the blued barrels are slightly choked and inside chromed. The locks are engraved.
The Extra Deluxe models are enriched with floral engravings and English scrolls on the lock, the tang and the trigger guard. The selected walnut stock is checkered and the barrels are rust brown colour finished.

During the Civil War the Confederate troops in addition to the standard ordnance guns also used all kinds of guns, including many sourced from European countries.
Among the guns used to equip the Cavalry there were also the traditional hunting side by side shotguns with shortened barrels to be handier while riding a horse.
In this way the Cavalry regiment acquired a noticeable advantage in the short distance battles.
Many such guns with shortened barrels featured both main spring and back action locks. The barrels were not always shortened.
Their popularity in fact, induced many gunsmiths to produce guns with short barrels and a single trigger mechanism. This shotgun features a nice brown colour for the barrel. The locks are case hardened.
